Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors in the Near Northwest Neighborhood
Come visit the freedge (free fridge)! It's like a little library . . . but with food!
At Feed a Friend, South Bend, we believe that all people deserve regular access to fresh, appealing food that sustains long-term health. We also believe that we are often best positioned to meet the needs of our neighbors through mutual aid. We seek to reduce food waste, respond to food insecurity, and build community through the sharing of resources.
Our community fridge and pantry are a storage space for fresh food and drinks that anyone can add to or access.
The fridge is located at 911 California Ave, behind Brain Lair Books. Look for a large shed in front of the black and white mural.
It's for anyone who wants to share or receive the gift of food. There is no application process.
The community fridge and pantry are open 24 hours a day. The fridge is filled 5 days/week by Cultivate.
