Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors in the Near Northwest Neighborhood
Come visit the freedge (free fridge)! It's like a little library . . . but with food!
A community fridge is a free resource for food sharing designed to reduce food waste, respond to food insecurity, and build community connections. Anyone can add to or take from the fridge and pantry at any time. We are located in an outdoor shed built by volunteers at 911 California Avenue in the Near Northwest Neighborhood of South Bend, IN.
Feed a Friend, South Bend is the local volunteer group that coordinates this effort as part of a larger, international network of free fridges called freedge. We believe that all people deserve regular access to fresh, appealing food that sustains long-term health. We also know that we are often best positioned to meet the needs of our neighbors. We'd love your help!
